Fashion.Business.Spirituality:

A call to the Fashion Light Workers

“This is a call to the light workers of the fashion industry.

Maybe you are like me, a fool in love with fashion. At first, fashion is a dream, filled with fabrics, colors, sketches, clothes, and glamorous events. But very soon, you realize that fashion is demanding. There are projects to complete in impossible situations, tight deadlines, sleepless nights, people harshly judging your creativity, egos who seem to care only about themselves.

Was this really the fashion career you fell in love with? There is surely a better way. What if you could live and work in the fashion industry, with a sense of peace, calm, and feeling centered?

This book speaks to the fashion industry, but this book is not about collections, trends, or seasons. The message of this book centers around the human aspect of the industry, the awareness of the self, and the spirituality and self-development that comes with it.

This book is about you, the designer and fashion worker in the midst of the fashion world—your passions, struggles, dreams, decisions, and actions. When you can design and work from a place of feeling centered within yourself, you will be a light to everyone around you. You will dress the world in light.”

  THE Community

Meet the “ Fashion Light Workers” community and be part of the tribe, we look forward to receiving your feedback and pictures of the book and the resources we create to support you!

“BRUTALLY HONEST YET ENCOURAGING!”

This book is so desperately needed! I wish I had it years ago when I first entered the crazy fashion industry.

Farah is brutally honest, but encouraging while laying out simple, actionable tools so you can still follow your passion for fashion AND stay sane & healthy while doing so.

I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone who’s thinking about working in fashion, anyone who is already working in fashion, or anyone who is in a fast-paced stressful industry. “

“A guide for fashion workers”

A really good book. A fundamental reading for the young fashion workers and the seniors too. For me is like a bible to consult every time I need it. Totally Recommended “

Fashion. Business. Spirituality

Manifesto_

Sharing with you the definition of spirituality you may find on the internet:

“Spirituality is a broad concept with room for many perspectives.

In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience that touches us all.-

Spirituality is knowing who you are and connecting with something larger than yourself. Some people believe it’s God or Spirit or the Source of all that is, and that it is outside you.

Others feel spirituality is inside us.”

My definition:
I believe it’s both. And I also believe is common sense.

Since I was a fashion student I always dreamed of creating my own Fashion Academy with a holistic vision, a more inclusive perspective of the world, and of course, a strong and systemic spiritual background.

I believe that education and knowledge should be accessible to everyone, and so today and after almost 20+ years working in the Fashion Industry and 10+ years as a teacher & educator I decided to build a platform where to create the Fashion Light Workers Academy and the Farah Liz Pallaro Membership.

In 2018 I was invited by the ICAAD organization in London, Uk for a panel about “creativity & Mental health for fashion professionals, and it was there that I learned about the numbers I am sharing here with you:

60% of fashion professionals have experienced emotional or psychological stress due to industry pressure and unhealthy environments, 30 % have developed mental health issues because of this and 16% are in s therapeutic support.

These are the numbers provided by the *ICAAD report 2018.

My platform wishes to give support to prevent these professionals from developing burnout, with a holistic approach that combines  20 years of fashion expertise with spiritual and well-being methodology.

My mission is to contribute to creating a more positive and ethical fashion industry, with a special focus on healthier working environments, help professionals achieve a “life/work” balance and, by doing so, create a better fashion system.

My platform is a hybrid of Academy/Community and Media that delivers in a holistic and eclectic way, monthly resources to support our community of fashion professionals, the ones we call “Fashion light workers”.

The SUPPORT

1. THE Human is the pivotal point that sustains the whole.

Companies, brands, and institutions in the fashion industry are made by people, not robots (yet)!
As I always say, we are a group of people creating products and services for another group of people, the human link it’s in every part of the process. For years, the fashion industry gave priority to profit and other external factors forgetting what is the real value of things, people, and their energy.
We believe it is mandatory to put as a number one priority in the hierarchy of the fashion system: the people who create it every day, with their efforts and contributions

3. Building Heart-Driven companies: a virtuous fashion system.

As I wrote in my book "Fashion.Business.Spirituality", there are “Heart Driven“ Companies, moved by their values, purpose, and vision of an ethical and sustainable world.
The difference between them and the “Fear Driven“ companies that are moved by profit, is that they believe a better world is part of the process of us evolving human beings. Their contribution to the fashion system involves supporting people, businesses, and the world.

2. Spirituality, a supporting system, and a protection tool.

Spirituality is a non-religious experience that involves getting in touch with ourselves knowing who you really are and connecting with something larger than yourself, the source of all, the intelligent bigger system that holds life.

Spirituality often involves looking beyond the surface of things and trusting the process of how our lives unfold.

In all our methodology, resources, and material we use the studies of ancient spiritual philosophies as a tool to help overcome the struggles fashion professionals face in their everyday life. I believe that there is a reason why our ancestors gave us the knowledge of tradition and spiritual practices, and if they do still exist, it's because they still work.

We apply the wisdom of some of the most ancient philosophies such as Shamanism, Kabbalah, Buddhism, Tao, and other studies to support our community of fashion professionals around the world.

4. The Power of Community.

We all came into this world with a value message and contribution, as we are all part of the puzzle of life. We can not do things alone, the change needs to be driven by the group.

We strongly believe in the power of community as the supporting mechanism that will make a positive change in the fashion industry possible.
