The more I work in this industry the more some key concepts get clear.

It is obvious that to achieve self-confidence is something that will benefit your life in every aspect of it. But if you want to work in this industry, it is key.

First of all, you have to have a clear concept of what self-confidence means.

It is not thinking you are better than others. This is wrong.

Why? Because by doing so you are falling into the “compairing trap”.

Self-confidence is not about thinking and acting as if you are superior.

Self-confidence is the awareness of who you are, both your strengths as well as your weaknesses and be ok with all of them.

Many people I know in this fashion industry, both friends and peers say that it shows that I am very confident with myself, specially when it comes to work and projects.

This is not totally true, like every person I do not feel always confident, or at least  not in every situation, but what I do try to do is to simply know what I am good at and what I have to learn or improve and focus on my strengths, not my weaknesses.

Remember that what you focus on, expands.

So if I do not know how to do something, I simply say  “I do not know this”, and not pretend I do, this is one of the many mistakes people do in fashion, just pretending they are something they are not.

There is no point in doing this, as sooner or later people will realize it is not true, and most likely you will be considered  a not “trustable” person.

My advice is to work on your “inner confidence”, the one that will help you move forward all the aspects of your life, and then apply this new vision of yourself also to working in fashion.

Believe me, it will come back to you 10-fold!
